Design Challenge:
This bathroom was small, dark, outdated and had one too many entrances. The main entrance needed to be moved to accommodate a new closet and the view of the toilet was less than desirable. The clients wanted all new fixtures, flooring, lighting, and wall coverings to achieve an oasis they could relax in at the end of the day.
Design Solution: Molaia Design began by closing off one entrance and moving the other from the middle of the room to the far left wall, which resulted in a larger, more efficient bathroom. A freestanding, air-jet tub was then selected and proved to be the perfect mix of modern technology and elegant design. The curves of the tub were repeated in the pedestal sink, which also offered additional storage in this storage challenged space. White subway tile and hexagon flooring added a crisp and clean feeling to the space, yet were softened by a pale turquoise hue on the walls. The look was completed with a stunning Venetian antique mirror, chrome fixtures, and a one-of-a-kind black crystal chandelier.
