Molly Kerr, owner and principal designer of Molaia Design, started her career designing custom window treatments, bedding and decorative pillows. Eventually, her clients began asking for additional assistance, such as color consultation, furniture selection and material specification. It quickly became apparent that Molly would have to branch out on her own in order to better service her clients; thus, the creation of Molaia Design.
Molly received a Bachelor of Science in business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 1997. |
|
| After living and working in New Jersey for the next four years, she returned to Minnesota and obtained another Bachelor of Science degree, this time in interior design. Molly believes her interior design education has provided her with the foundation knowledge of the health, safety, and welfare issues effecting design projects and their clients today. She works to expand that knowledge through continuing education, research and industry involvement in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She is also working towards becoming a certified interior designer; a certificate awarded to those who pass the rigorous National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam.
Passage of this test signifies the hallmark of professionalism in the interior design community and alerts the public to the expertise and experience of the designer who has met this challenge. |
